Please HELP. Engine Shuddering

On my way to work this morning my truck started to shudder and hesitate as it was accelerating. At idle it slightly shudders as well.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Sounds like a typical misfire situation. If the CEL is on, pull codes.

Yeah, I had the same problem with my '01 Expy 5.4l. It turned out to be a fouled driver's side rear most plug (cyl #4 I believe). I guess our generation of trucks is notorious for water getting into that area and fouling out the plug. The cost of the fix is simple, $2, but the plug replacement is a real PITA! Good luck

Drivers side has cylinders 5-8 (front to back) Yours was #8 cyl. Just some info that might come in handy later.

Ha! brain fart on my part. It was the rearmost passenger's side that I replaced. I don't know why I listed it as the driver's side...cold weather must be getting to me. lol
