Replacing Power Steering Fluid

Hey guys,

Just a maintenance question, so no issues or noise.

Can I just use a hand pump to pump out the power steering fluid and then replace with fresh? Is there a better way?

To ensure the long term operation of my ps pump would this be enough maintenance?

In case it matters the truck has 44k miles and is a 2005 FX4 5.4L.

Thanks

Tom

I do that on every other oil change in my rig.. The PS fluid comes out nice and clear red each time...
