1997 F-Superduty 7.3 won't stay running
I bumped into a stump with my truck and now it won't stay running. I was told that the fuel shut off safety valve needs to be reset. I have looked for this reset button and can't find it. The truck is a Ford F-Superduty 7.3 Power Stroke diesel.
I have also replaced the fuel filter.
thanks for any help on my problem

Thanks. I removed the kick panel on the passenger side and looked under the dash. I haven't seen any kind of button or switch. Should it be pretty visible.
I disconnected the fuel line at the fuel filter and i'm not getting fuel when I turn the engine over. I'm just guessing on the reset switch for the fuel switch because ever since I bumped the stump with the front end the motor won't start.Well it will start but only runs for a minute or so.

check here for your owners manual if your vehicle doesnt have one in it or you simply dont have a one.

should have a fuel reset location, probably under roadside hazard section?

Thanks for all the help even though I was in the wrong forum. I did finally get the problem fixed after replacing the fuel pump which was ok. I found out that having oil register on the dipstick is a must in diesel engines. I added 4 quarts of oil to the engine before it hit the dipstick, duh on my part and my helpers. This was a first for working on diesel engines so we have learned quite a lot. Again thanks for the help. The motor runs perfectly now and we can get back to work.
