2006 died going down highway

i have had this problem on two trucks of the same year. mine and my fathers. just cruising down the road and the accel pedal goes dead then engine shuts down. now just coasting. pull over, wait a few mins and restart, goes just fine. ford replace the pcm breaker and the 2nd time replaced the throttle body. any one make sense of this? they did not do anything to my fathers, said there was nothing to do.

Sounds like something with the damn fly-by-wire system going out. Heard of it happening a lot, assuming there's some kind of controller, not really familiar with the system myself though.

I really wish ford never went to the electronic throttle. The old cable system was just fine, and NEVER failed.
