P0316 and injector problem...any relation?

2006 5.4 3v
Within the last week my truck has developed a missfire problem. It only does it when the truck has been sittin for quite a while and is cold (like right in the morning). It spitters and sputters and missfires pretty bad when I first start it and while idling, and when I take off and drive it it will still missfire. After I drive about 4 blocks it runs fine.

I pulled a P0316 code with the Genysis, which is a Missfire within the first 1000 revolutions. No check engine light, but it stored the code. Didnt have time to look into it more with the scanner...I thought I read on AllData that the computer will store a freezeframe of the missfiring cylinder though? So I need to check that out again.

NOWWWW....I also believe I have the injector leakdown problem as well. Ive noticed ever since I bought the truck about 2 years ago that it will start hard at times; just as people with the injector problem describe. I think the extended warrantee on the injectors is for 05MYs only, but I know Ive seen plenty of 06MY owners with the problem too.

My question is....has anyone ever seen the injector problem cause this code, or am I off base thinking they could be related?

Guess Im kind of hoping they are related, otherwise thats one more thing wrong with this POS
