Fortunately, I have 12 shop computers, all the same. I went thru one so far ..
Just heading up to bed and checked the thermometer, -15.6 degree's outside.
in my shop without the heat on, it was cold, real cold.
I am going to do some reading up on tuners over the next few days. Want to get up to date on the technology, how it works,
what are the gains and +'s & -'s, etc etc.

p0420..catalyst below def. bank 1.... if you have not changed your spark plugs and gotten new wires this sounds like your problem. esp if your vehicle isn't bogging down or showing signs of restricted air flow and no back pressure.....converters very seldom go bad in the fords. a slight misfire can cause the 02 sensor to read a deficiancy in the converter without ever throwing a misfire code which would look like p03XX

new plugs and wires!

The Large converters crack across the bottom under the heat shield - Look and listen for evidence. Keep in mind an exhaust leak can very easily thro a 420/430 as well.

You tune to adjust fuel trims and trans tables . Most canned tunes come with 3 - Economy, Towing and Performance. When you start throwing mods on the motor , there comes a time where Data Logging is required in order to dial her in correctly. That's about all I can tell yuh - I need to read up on that as well.

With Exhaust hot, spray PB-Blaster on threads where it threads into the exhaust pipe "bung". It will stink and burn off but no worries. Let the engine cool down and respray the threads and bung area again with the PB-Blaster. Let it sit over night if you can. The next morning, one more shot of the PB-Blaster and remove the O2. To date this proceedure has never allowed me to run into a problem. Believe it or not, I have gotten all O2's out with an open-end wrench. Still waiting for one that gives me a hard time, then I will have to buy the special O2 socket.

Good luck with the work,

Thanks TJK I appreaciate it, I will do just that....What exactly is PB-Blaster??

PB-Blaster is an aerosol lubricant (and a whole lot more.) Think WD-40 on steroids. Only thing I've ever found better was Kroil (not sure about the spelling), used to use it as a cutting oil on hard jobs when I worked in a machine shop. Greatest stuff I've ever seen--hardly dull a bit or a saw blade, much less break it. Don't know if they make Kroil anymore--don't remember seeing it sold at the retail level anyway. But PB-Blaster's pretty good stuff. Should be able to find it at any discount parts store (Autozone, etc...), if not someplace like NAPA should have it.

I havn't been in an auto parts store that doesn't sell it around here. I have a can in my shop, down in the barn and made my brother-inlaw buy a can because I do the work on their vehicles. Great stuff.

If you want the Kroil Brand, here you go !
http://www.amazon.com/Kano-Aerokroil...gy_auto_text_b

Amazing, you can buy almost anything on Amazon.com
