Cold air intake

I'm looking for a cold air intake for my 2006 f-150. I was looking at K&N and Banks. Does anyone have a opinion on which one has better performance?
Thanks,
Ben

General consensus on here seems to be that the best of the intakes are AF1, S&B, and Airaid. Some have had trouble with vibrations with the K&N. The Banks, don't hear much, so that should tell you a little.

Also, if you do a CAI without a tune, it will do very little for you. You need a tune that will take advanatge of additional air and do the proper fuel mixture.

Well said. S&B and AF1 get my vote.

Go to the Chips, Tuners and Programmers Forum and do some reading. You need to purchase a tuner that contains up to 3 new programs and will store your stock program while you run a new tune. The best devices are Xcal3, the Gryphon, and the Edge. Both the Xcal3 and the Gryphon offer custom tunes while the Edge offers only canned tunes. I prefer the Gryphon tuned by bill at www.powerhungryperformance.com, while many other prefer the Xcal3 tuned by either VMP or Troyer Performance. You can't go wrong with any of the three. But, like I said, do some reading, many questions will be answered and those that aren't just ask them.
