Changing fender badges

What works best to remove the old badges from the fender? I'm putting on the 04-08 badges on my 2002 F150 and tinting them for the black chrome look......my Ford grill/tailgate badges will get the same treatment, and I don't want any paint coming off in the process.

thanks

Heat them with a heat gun or hair dryer and use some thick fishing line and "SAW" through the adhesive from behind then your done. yep that simple

Remember there are holes behind the fender logos. Not sure if the new style logo has pins in the same place.

Both styles have the alignment pins, you can swap the badges over no problem.

I bought mine from here btw.......they come with the 3m adhesive tape as well.

Yes both styles have pins but they may not line up with the holes so you may have to cut the pins off of your new logo. Also depending on which logo you chose it may not cover all of the holes. One of the holes is pretty big.

After 2 days I finally removed all traces of adhesive tape.....it was a real pain for me. I used the hairdryer and adhesive spray remover method and ended up with a mess. Must have been from extreme temp fluctuations over the years that we get up here in Alberta.

Anyways, badges are on and I really like the look....much better than the pink XLT badges I had before.

If anyone runs into the same problem like me, use this thing!

I had just the wheel and attached it to my cordless, comepletely removed everything and left a very clean surface to put the new badges on. Great product, and 3M has a simular item as well.
