altn. bearing going out??

altn. bearing going out??

About 3 weeks ago i drove through standing water that went up to the bottom of my headlights on my stock stx 2wd and since that night a have heard kinda a shrealing sound at idol ang gets slightly louder the more I hit the gas. thinking its the altenator (spelling?) bearing but dont wanna fix something thats not broke. anyone else had this happen? What could it be?

Take your belt off and turn it by hand. If the bearing is on the way out you will be able to feel it.

Yep do that and also check the tensioner pulley and the A/C compressor cause it sits low too.

Or a new belt??
