Exhaust manifold leak

I have a 2000 f-150 with a 5.4. One of the bolts is broken off the exhaust manifold causing a exhaust leak when started, it goes away after it warms up. Is it necessary to repair? I don't mind the noise. Just wondering if it is hurting or going to cause other problems. Thanks

Possibly a problem.

Cold air could enter through the leak and contact the exhaust valve. If the valve is hot and the air is cold enough the valve could bend/crack etc.

The volume of exhaust that travels through the system will drop because of the leak thus de-tuning the exhaust system.

There may be other issues with other exhaust dependent items as well.
