Stripped Spark Plug Threads

this is a direct quote from Decemebr 2008 Motor Magagzine Service Slants

"The cylinder heads on some 1997-2008 Ford cars and trucks with the 4.6, 5.4 or 6.8L two valve engine may exhibit missing or stripped spark plug threads.Ford has come up with a new kit called "LOCK-N-STICH" to remedy the sitruation. The kit contains special aluminum inserts and a tool to properly install them. The carmaked points out that the LOCK-N-STICH is the only kit it recommends to fix the damaged cycluinder heads since others may affect the spark plugs ability to transfer heat from the heads.

It only took Ford 10 years to recognize the problem and come up with a solution. And then they throw dirt at Timeserts by their statement "that others may affect the spark plugs ability to transfer heat into the head."

I hope all of you that paid for timesert and /or new heads take the article from Motor magazine to your Ford dealer and seek reimbursement- I am being idealistic- Ford will no doubt tell everyone to pound sand!

Happy New Year
