Non Starter, help!!

I went out to my truck this morning & it would not start!! The engine almost turns over but will not go. I have noticed over the last week or so that it was sluggish starting in the morning. I have not seen any low battery lights or errors shown on my odometer. I tried to jump it but that made now differance (although perhaps the other battery was low). I was thinking its either the battery or the starter motor. Should I charge it and see what happens or should I get the battery load tested? Any ideas guys. I have an 05 2wd

I'd start with the load test , it is the cheapest begining.
This time of year is hard on bateries.

You need to get a meter on that battery and see what voltage your putting out before you start it. If your not getting 12 - 12.5 volts, (high 11's are ok)you may want to consider a new battery. After you do get it running, take that same meter and check your voltage again to see what voltage it goes up to from your Altenator output. I think my truck is reading between 13 & 14volts output, truck running.
What State are you from, have you been getting the real cold weather the Northeast has been getting.

Most of the Autozones will roll a cart out to your auto and test your battery

No need to take the battery to a store if you can get your hands on a volt meter. Sitting in the driveway, check the voltage.
I just had a no start issue. Checked the battery 1st, 12.5 volts at 5 degrees outside (new battery 2 months ago). Checked my starter relay for failure, fuses and relays, etc.
Came down to an 8 month old starter that was getting moisture in the solenoid and causing it to freeze up, literally.
You need to get your hands on a volt meter, that will make your job alot easier and probably diagnose your problem pretty quick.

You can put a voltmeter on it and it will tell you if the battery is discharged any but it won't tell you if the battery has enough amperage to start the engine. You'll need a draw down test for that. I'd skip the BS and just go get another battery. Factory batteries are not known for lasting too long anyway and yours is now a 3-4 year old battery. I usually buy the best WalMart battery and make sure there is a reason for it to be dead before the replacement warranty runs out. I haven't bought a battery in almost 10 years for the 4 vehicles around here. Walmart has been replacing them under warranty.
