I bought a complete 2003 F150 4.6L w/49k miles w/all accessories, complete stock air intake setup, starter, PCM, engine harness (not to mention engine bay harness with main fuse box) including delivery (300 miles) for $1100. I thought I got a screamin' deal!! I told the guy I was putting it in my '97 and he said as long as I needed it for the swap...it was included!! I picked up a 70k mile trans 4R70W and manual shift transfer case from a 2003 for $650 delivered (about 250 miles). So engine trans and transfer case all under 70k miles for $1750 including delivery...did I mention I got a screamin' deal??

I think I'm gonna need the 03 instrument cluster also since the info appears to be transfered via a data bus vice individual wires like my '97....then I gotta deal with the security key crap I think....anyway.

I would think what you have (eng & trans)would easily be worth $2500+ depending on what was included.

WOW!...You think they are THAT undesirable??? Maybe from a performance view, but think about the guy who has an 03 truck in great shape with a worn out motor....the alternative is to go rebuilt and that will be at least$2000 engine alone.

I just bought a 4.6 for a 1997 and just the engine was 1000 bucks. Its also the only one I could find within about 50 miles.

Never said it was undesirable. And I also didn't say anything about (from a performance view!)
You can go to most any junk yard and get a motor for 1000 bucks and a tranny for between 4 and 500 with 88,000 miles on it!
Just being realistic.Like I said,,,if he can get more,,that would be great!
