The other day we had a big storm and my truck was outside all night facing the wind. The next day me and a buddy went to town and got 10 miles down the road and she started getting really hot and my freeze backed up into the overflow but no hoses broke. When i started her back up again the temp went down and stayed down. Ever since then tho the engine started cutting out, at an idle you can hear it popping every once in a while and when shes on the road, i was thinking that there might be an ice buildup in my fuel filter or by bad coinsidence my plugs or wires are bad and the worst case senario i could think of was a blown head gasket but i was going to see what kind of feedback i got before i tore into her.

 

You probably didn't have enough antifreeze and it froze up. Who knows what you could have cracked.
