Won't turn over, replaced solenoid.

Ford 1995 F-150 5 liter V8

Car won't crank anymore, we replaced the starter solenoid that is up in the engine bay. It just clicks really loud, but the starter doesn't engage, Traced all the wires back to the starter, everything looks good. All the fuses are good. Any other possibilities before we replace the starter? Thanks.

i guess just test the battery. but i think its going to be the starter. beat on the starter a little bit with a hammer or something. you may get it to crank, you may not.
