Wont start....

so my 300 I6 is bein a kooont and wont start. i cant hear the fuel pump prime so i'm guessing thats the problem. i had this problem a few months ago with similar symptoms but it turned out the plug in the bottom of the distributor was bad. do you think that this could have gone bad again or do you think i have a short in my fuel pump somewhere?

also check the fuel pump fuse block. those are pretty common on the I6. Good luck

theres a panel under the steerin column pull that off and theres your fuse box right there look on back of the panel for what fuse goes to what and pull that and check it or just pull all of em and check to make sure no other ones are blown

The relay is under the hood on the passenger side. Youll see a black plastic box about 4"x8". You may have to look in your owners manual for the number relay. Not sure which one it is......sorry. You should be able to see if the relay is blown

queerest thing just happend to me...i decided to unplug the clip from the ignition module and plug it back in and for sh*ts and giggles i decided to try and start it and it started right up. would the ignition module keep my fuel pump from priming? would a bad fuse do this?

the ignition module has nothing to do with the fuel pump. the pumps are controlled by the pcm.

wrong...the computer tells the pumps to stop sending fuel when there is no spark so the motor doesn't flood.

thats partially correct. that would only be if there is no rpm signal to the pcm. no spark has nothing to do with it. the no rpm signal causes no spark and the fuel pump(s) to turn off.

and the inertia switch should be located under your dash on the passenger side. it'll have either 1 or 2 buttons. if 2 push the each of the 2 buttons simultaneously. if 1 then just push the button.

Yea...im gonna try throwing a different dizzy on it and see if it fixes the problem. i ran a diagnostics check on it and it didnt throw any codes so im royally confused now. i dont think i have any bad wires to my fuel pump/s i got under my truck and wiggled all the wires to see if it would help any and it didn't. Does anybody think my switch for my front and rear tanks could be bad and that it could maybe be causing this? i was playing with the switch today and i noticed that it felt kind of soft and i also noticed that if you pushed the switch to far towards the front tank position it would make my gas gauge not register meaning that something isn't getting good contact in there.

it could be the switch or it could also be the relay had a glitch in it.
