Acetone
Acetone
Ok so I have heard pros and cons for adding actone to fuel. I understand the warranty issue so enough said on that topic. What I want to know is if any of you guys have tried it and if so what MPG gains did you get?
p.s. I did a search and did not find any stories from board users who have tried this in their trucks.

HI!... I've been using it for about 6 months now. I add about 2 OZ. to a full tank of gas in my Ranger. Once I started using it, I was using a 1/4 of a tank of gas less a week going back and forth to work. No ill effects. It's saved me roughly about $15 a week so for the 6 months I've saved about $360 in fuel for a $10 can I got from Canadian Tire.
As with anything that promises fuel savings, be skeptical. Keep in mind that on a truck that gets 15 MPG, a 10% fuel savings is only 1.5 MPG. I have no idea how much fuel a Ranger uses, which engine, transmission, bed length, cab configuration, & weight of the Ranger, what the baseline MPG was before acetone, and what the results are with Acetone on a Ranger. It would be interesting to see some facts. I have found that using different brands of fuel could account for that 1.5 MPG. Certainly a lighter foot could do it also. At times, a combination of different mods could also shave 1.5 MPG. I've even gotten a 1.5 MPG difference by taking the long way home on the freeway.
Here is one site (of many) that I have run accross regarding its use:
