ive got an engine issue...i think?

help me out guys. the ther day i had to hammer down to keep from getting hit. when i did, the was a loud metallic sound from underneath the front drivers side of my truck. on other occasions, when i have to put the pedal down, i get either that metallic sound, or a bang under the truck. any ideas?

Maybe bad gas or a timing issue causing pinging. Or a too lean condition causing a backfire in the intake system ??

Do you have a 2004 or newer 4x4? If yes I suspect IWE. Knowing what you have makes it a lot easier to WAG.
