Tuning Issues...

Alright, I just purchased a 5.4 for my 2000 F150. And from reading throughout all these other 5.4 swap threads, I have a few questions regarding a tune for it. I know about the transmission tune, because my truck has an M5OD, but I was more concerned about the engine tune, I know you can get a tune to delete the EGR, but I was wondering about the cats? I dont have any emission laws where I'm at. Would it be worth deleting the cats? I'm also currently ordering a set of long tubes, as well as a cold air intake, and new internals as it will eventually be getting boost down the road.

Also, what are some good aluminum heads? I haven't been too bothered to look yet, as I haven't torn into the engine yet.

you might as well do all the mods at once. otherwise you'll be paying for new tunes every mod 1 at a time. you can delete the cats but i would reccommend you put 2 high flows in place of the front cats. and you wont need a tune for them.

I will be doing all the mods at once, aside from putting boost to the engine. Basically, I will be building the bottom end, and putting aluminum heads on. Installing it, with a tune for the egr delete, and possibly the cat delete. I plan on driving it in this state to make sure there are no drivability issues, or no problems, then eventually putting a supercharger/pro charger on it.

Your truck has aluminum heads on it!
The don't make an aftermarket head for these trucks yet,,,best you can do is have them ported and polished and put a better cam in them.
https://www.patriot-performance.com/( the cheapest ones but they had problem)
http://www.totalengineairflow.com/( that's what I'm running)

Oh yeah,,,I just saw that Trick Flow is coming out with the first aftermarket heads for the 2V soon!!
