How NOT to mod an engine

Found this link to a guy in Spain that has modded (?) a Mitsubishi 4 banger. His goal is 900HP at 10,000 rpms. You just won't believe what all this guy does to this engine and car. The thread has over 1.3 million hits across the globe. If you ever wondered just how bad a shop can mess up an engine, follow this thread. It's probably not dial up friendly as there are lots of pics. Do not click on any of the links on page one only. The thread is 53 pages long but the meat is just about done at page 30 or there abouts where he drills the flywheel to make it lighter. He also cuts the center out of a clutch and rewelds it. Balance? What stinkin' balance? Get the picture where this thread is going to go?

Sit back and enjoy the craziness! Oh yeah, I'm not responsible for drinks spit on yer computer screen. And yes, he is working the heads with a hand file.

My neighborhood mechanic & I were talking about Jeeps, and he told me about how a client of his has done all sorts of stuff to a Suzuki Samurai.....and it still sucks. I had a Samurai. It ran fine as a daily driver for 21 years & over 300,000 miles. But those cars do suck. You put the same amount of energy, time, and parts into a Wrangler, and you've got a much better car. What is this guy thinking with a Mitsubishi?

They are far cheaper to build, and a stock samurai will out wheel a Heep lifted on 33's and locked. Trust me, I used to do it all the time. Jeep's are like tampons, every pusy has one. Just trust me. Heep will never keep up with a Zuk. You just have to know what your doing. I would put a Zuk vs. a Heep any day, any terrain. If you'd ever of come out with us to go wheel, might of saw just how awesome these little rigs can be. Check out Zukikrawlers.com

"do your part to keep trails clean, keep Jeeps on pavement"

Some decent Zuks :

Plenty of EASY engine swaps for a Samurai (Chevy 4.3, VW diesel, Chevy 350, 1.6L 16 valve sidekick motor), axle swaps are cake (mostly yota's and a lot of Dana 44's, all capable of running 39.5" tires). You can stretch em and link em fairly easy, and turn them more into a truggy. They are lighter weight, which = great weight to power ratio. Plus, they just kick ***. Gearing options are just awesome, along with far better looks.

Probably just rambling.... back to my energy drink....
