I have a 2004 F-150 FX4 for some reasom bank 2 of my engine isn't firing at all. Does anyone know why this could be happening and what to do about it?

is it in limp home mode? have you checked out the wiring or put a scanner on it? has anyone looked at it?

Not firing, as in no spark? No injector pulse? No compression? Misfires on all bank 2 cylinders?

Why would you take it apart without knowing the codes? - or remembering?

Must not have been important ehh

I took it apart Because it's acting like the timing was out and when i pulled the valve cover to check the timing chain i noticed that the chain was loose ,so i pulled the timing cover to see if the tentioners were bad and to check the positions of the timing chains the code was P0022 with random misfires in bank 2

P0022 is bank 2 cam timing over-retarded. Usually, that comes from using cheap oil filters; the filter media breaks down and stops up the VCT actuator. Or the O-ring sealing the actuator against the cylinder head tears and the actuator loses oil pressure. Don't mess with the timing chains, tensioners, phasers and the like, replace the bank 2 VCT actuator (the thingy sticking up through the valve cover) and try again.

ETA - And next time, remember that the flow of diagnosis is from least invasive, to most invasive. Taking stuff apart and inspecting is about the last thing you should do.

i took off the VCT actuator and put 12volts to it and it seems to be working properly, I didn't see an o-ring on the actuators, i checked both where should it be. But one of the small screens around the bank 2 actuator has a hole in it. not sure how that happened. any more addvice?
