Replacing 90 degree elbow on back of engine

I have narrowed down my rough idle problem to a vacuum leak in the infamous 90 at the rear of the TB. My problem now is that the thing is pretty much melted and is just a big glob of rubber. Is it supposed to just slip off, or is there more to removing it than that? I'd like to just cut it off so long as that won't cause any other problems.

It was in bad shape. I had to cut it into pieces with a razor. The rubber was completely pliable. But the truck runs great now. A couple times I thought the truck had stalled because it wasn't shaking like it usually does at idle lol.
