rpms slow?

Ok so ive had an 05 and now an 04 f150 and have the same complaint on both. There seems to be something screwy with the rpms. When you rev the engine the rpms climb so slow and fall back down just the same. Even when i accerate it doesnt seem as quick as my previous trucks that pinned me in the seat. I just got custom exhaust done on my 04 fx4 tonight and now i can really notice the slow rpm climb because i can hear it! It seems that maybe its bad throttle response? any ideas? Perhaps a tuner will help? Thanks!

Fly by wire garbage they put on them now. No throttle cable.. Tuners do help. They can program away the lag I've heard.

Ok, its terrible now. It seems to kill both sound and power. Its like a rev limiter or something id guess. Any suggestions on tuners? I had an edge a few years ago but now theyve skyrocketed in price!

Are you sure you don't have a clogged converter?
