Fuel milage

Hi people, I am new to the forum, however I'm sure this has been asked over and over so please forgive.
I just sold my 98 F150 and bought a used 07 FX2, it is a 4.6 l, 4 speed auto with a towing package and 3.73 factory gears. I have only had the truck for a couple of weeks. When I calculated my milage it appears that I am getting about 10 miles per gal city driving. Any comments???

Someone suggested installing a Diablo Sport to improve the miles per gal. any truth to that??

seems about right if your heavy footed. and yes a tuner will give you better fuel mileage. i dont know which is the best for fuel mileage though.

I just got an 08 F-150 super cab with an automatic trans....I got 20.3 in my first tank. Slow it down Brother and try no to let those RPM's get high. You should be fine.

I have not had the truck on the hwy as yet, I drive about 1 mile to work and a mile back home. during this drive the truck never goes over 25 to 30 mph, speed or a lead foot is not the problem.

that might be it, stop and go kills fuel milage....im assuming you do alot of stop and go, because driving 30 for 1 mile would drive me crazy lol

Under those driving conditions, 10 mpg is actually pretty decent. It's probably not even getting into closed loop, therefore it's running very rich. It's also hard on the engine, I'd recommend you get it thoroughly warmed up and out on the highway from time to time. Under those conditions, a tuner won't help.

That is what I thought was the problem as well. I am heading to FLA in Jan, I should get a good idea of the milage then, thanks

I have a Scan Gauge II. I have seen city mileage as low as 6-8 MPG.
