Hose identification

1999 ford f150 lariat 5.4l

Hello folks.

New to Fords, but slowly learning.

Today I replaced the coil pack over plug #4. While I was rooting around in there, I noticed this hose next to the oil-fill cap. The hose was not attached. When I press the hose over the nozle, it does not feel like it 'fits'. Just slides off again. Can anyone tell me what hose this is, and perhaps why it does not seem to fit snugly?

Thanks!

how does the elbow on the back of the intake look? if the elbow is no good andthe pcv valve end of the hose has oil all inside the part that slides onto the pcv valve then the pressure will blow it right back off.

The elbow just barely fits on there. I can put it over it, and remove it by just flicking my finger against it.

Guess i need a new elbow? A search on here shows a few people replacing them.

I bet thats whats causing the p0171 and p0174 codes to fire up.
