2001 5.4L SCrew - Spark Plugs Ft.Lbs. ??

The Chilton truck manual says that the torque is to be 9-20 Ft. Lbs., and
the Haynes truck manual says that it is to be 7-14 Ft. Lbs. Does anyone
know WHAT the Ford motor manual says? Because of plug blow-outs, I want to get it right. Thanks..

14 ft. lbs sounds about right.

i always tightened them to where i just about couldnt tighten them anymore, enough to where i'd have a slight struggle to take them out.

The spec from the '01 workshop manual is 13 ft/lbs. I start them by hand (a piece of 3/8 vacuum hose works well for this), tighten until they bottom out and go another 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Install them dry, nothing on the threads. I've never had a problem with them coming out unexpectedly.
