you have an electronic throttle body. you cant just take it off and clean it up like a 97-03 tb. you can clean the maf and i believe the throttle plate. but i dought yours would be dirty already.

What i am really looking to do is clean it in my 97 Chevy 350. It has 200k on it and never been done. Any ideas how to properly clean a 97 Chevy 350?

you can do pretty much the same thing as f150fella did. take it off and clean it real good. just unhook the throttle cable and just a few bolts. or you could just use a old toothbrush and a tb and intake cleaner and just scrub down the throttle plate and throttle body bore. for some reason chevy doesnt build up as much gunk as a ford does but with the mileage it may be worth the time to take it off. i cant go through alot of detail because its been a while since i've cleaned a chevy tb.

yea i just used throttle plate cleaner and a old toothbrush to scrub really good, i used about half the can
