Unknown trouble code!!!!!

Hi ,in my earlier post i asked questions about misfire problems.

Today i plugged the computer on it and it says :CODE P2006.

I don't know how you call it in ENGLISH but if i translate it goes:

INTAKE MANIFOLD SWITCH STAYS CLOSED!!!(bank 1)

I have a picture in my repair manual that shows the CMCV (charge motion control valve).

Can the CMCV only control one side of the bank?

Thx.

Ok ,but what i wanted to know is that if it's possible that the CMCV just opens bank 1 and let bank 2 closed.

You're right,it seems that the engine wants to jump out of the hood!!!!!!!!

It's incredible.

What is the solution???

Well your last sentence isn't going to help much either - But, if you really want to know, give it a shot... - Oh, btw - You might want to disconnect each injector dedicated to a cylinder that your not using at the moment, no sense in dumping fuel where there's no fire ...

Hell chrism9232 did the work for you and searched. Take advantage of that, after all, you were linked to this -

DTC #P2006

• The PCM monitors the mass air amount. If the actual air flow amount is below the estimated air flow amount when the following monitoring conditions are met. The PCM determines that the variable tumble control is stuck closed.
MONITORING CONDITION

- Engine coolant temperature is 70 °C {158 °F} or more.
- Throttle valve opening angle is more than 75 %.
- Engine speed is 4,500 rpm or more. (ZJ)
- Engine speed is 3,500 rpm or more. (Z6)

Diagnostic support note
• This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
• The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
• PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
• The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

POSSIBLE CAUSE:
• MAF sensor malfunction
• Excessive air suction of intake-air system (from MAF sensor onward)
• Improper intake-air system hose routing
• Variable tumble shutter valve stuck closed
• PCM malfunction

Hi guys, thx for your answers but as you see,i'm from FRANCE and i do not understand everything you write,sorry.....

I don't what PCM,DTC,etc, are!!!!

I read "VARIABLE TUMBLE SHUTTER VALVE STUCK CLOSED".Does that look like what i told you?

My OBD says that the valve on bank 1 stays closed. How can i check this? The engine light is NOT illuminated.

Can the CMCV be broken?

I can help with this part. PCM is the abbreviation for the trucks computer. DTC is the abbreviation for the diagnostic code, or the code number for the problem.

Here is a bulletin on ALL gas engines for Ford year model 2006. The page you need is 110 just in case it doesn't start up on page 110. Again, this is for ALL Ford gas engines including yours. This explains the function and some remedys. Considering you are in France, you may not necessarily be getting Top Tier gas and the gas you're buying may not have all of the necessary additives for your engine. The issue is usually that the valve gets sludged up. I know I'm going to regret the suggestion but, you might try using Seafoam in the intake runner to see if it can break it loose. Like everything else, you don't know if you don't try. If that works, I'd suggest either buying a gallon of Stoddard Solvent and using 4 oz per tank or using a bottle of Techron every other tank of gas.

With any luck at all, this will take care of the issue but the intake may have to come off to be fixed. Depending on the mileage of the truck, it should still be in warranty and would be a dealer problem to fix....if there is a dealer any where near you.

The octane rating is not so much the issue as the additive package in the gas. If it doesn't have enough cleaning agents for the injectors and intake system, it will sludge. This is probably your problem.
