Misfire Problem HELP!!!

I have a 2005 F150 Scab 5.4. I have 47k miles on it. The problem that I am having is when ever I have to step on it to pass or sometimes when I have to get on the highway and need to floor it for a second it seems to misfire and the engine light flashes for a min and then everything returns to normal.

I was going to get all the plugs changed. The dealer told me it would run me $250 and could go all the way up to a $1000 if they break. He asked why I was getting mu plugs changes early and I explained. He told me it sounded like a COP.

So I did so research on here and then went to advanced auto to have my computer ran to find out what cylinder is missing. They have an OBD II and it gave no codes. They recommeded that I go to a mechanic to run my computer. So then I went to my local mechanic. He told me he could run it for $25. He ran it, gave no codes to him either so he didnt charge me.

The engine light flashes when this happens. How could there be no codes? How do I know what COP to replace. I just want the misfire to stop. Please help!!!!!

Thanks in advance!

first off you cant expect an answer right away all the time.
anyways the 2005's had a bad bach of injectors and sometimes they would stick open. i'd try and clear that from the list of possibilities. and to test the coils just unplug one at a time and see which one doesnt make a difference. take short drives to figure out which one it is.

When it's missing, beat on it. Sometimes you have to do that to set the code.

So when its missing just keep on the gas. Will that mess anything up? I do usally let off the gas due to the shuttering of the miss.

Yep, just keep on it till the light stops flashing, then go get the codes read.

So I did as GLC said and then went to autozone. The Codes are

P0300 Multiple misfire
p0301 Cylinder #1 misfire

What do you guys recommend next?

I THINK THAT you should change your plug wires.. because my truck did this.. even though there new one could be bad.

Swap #1 and #2 cops, clear the codes (disconnect the battery while you are working on it, that will take care of it), and see what happens. If you get another CEL and it's a P0302, you know that the cop you moved to #2 is bad, replace it. Pick up a tube of dielectric grease and use it when you put the cops back on.

The other option is go tell your mechanic what you did and what the codes are and see what he recommends.

XX, why do you tell EVERYONE to change their plug wires? This guy's truck DOES NOT HAVE plug wires, it has a coil on top of each plug.
