Engine missfire troubles

My engine has been missfireing pretty bad so I changed all the spark plugs and that seamed to help, but it is still doing it. How do you check the coil packs to see if they are good or not? I don't want to replace em all if I don't have to. And should I replace the COP wireing system (spark plug cables) if that is what those are?

I bought em at the ford dealer, motorcraft or bosch. The factory ones.

factory are motorcraft so you should be good there. heres a link for the coils
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...=p4506.c0.m245 i'd get the whole set. and if you only want to replace the bad one then just set all the others aside. but i'd do them all. and dont forget dielectric grease in the boots.

Thanks, that is super cheap, ford wants $50 each. What is the chance of the wires that plug into the COP's being bad?

i have only seen that happen once on here. i dont know exactly where the wires were messed up but it was somewhere where water gets all in them and they rot and all. i think jbrew was the one that helped out in that thread.
