Help engine or transmission????
Help engine or transmission????
Ok....here is the issue..i have a 1999 Ford F150 and have a persisiting problem that I nor some mechanics cannot seem to figure out/diagnoss without costing alot of money which i dont have...
For starters about a month ago the truck began acting wierd during acceleration...as in wierd I mean that when i accelerated at a fast rate or while going up a hill when the truck went to a higer gear it willl shutter and act as if its not getting enough gas....along with this problem the trucks OD light began flashing and kicking out a code P0782....gear 2-3 shift error....
The mechanic i brought it to found a ford bulletin that showed that this issue typically was caused by a bad accumulator piston. therefore due to this issue I had them replace the accumulator piston and while doing this also completed a transmision service on the truck...the mechanic told me there was alot of debris in the pan.
20 minutes after the repair hte problem still continued including the OD light flashing....therefore i brought it to a transmission specialist who stated that it appeared to be an internal tranmission problem after driving it and running toe codes again. ...after the visit a few days later the OD light never came back on but the truck still shutters alot when quickly accelerating and going up hills....
It was also determined that when the codes where initially run the computer was showing several engine misfires in gear 3....
I set up an appointment to have it evaluated further by the same mechanic wedensday to help solve the problem..my biggers issue is i wont want to spend to much money....attempting to solve the problem...
ANY IDEAS ARE WELCOME
Thanks

What motor ? Has the CEL blinking at any time recently ? Accelerating normally on flat ground, do you get this shudder at about 45 mph , right after the shift into OD and after you begin to accelerate ?
