Starter Question

Ok so I tried to get a new bosch starter for my 99 f150 and they dont have the bosch, they had the motocraft and it was refurbished.. I was told they dont even sell new ones for that year truck anymore?? does this sound right??? Where and what should I buy.. I was planning on spending 180 dollars or so... is it worth it to buy a junker truck starter??? I am putting new wiring on the truck.

Thanks
Sean

My truck is a 2000 F150 with 227k. on it. It still has the orignal starter. For the price of a reman starter I would almost find a junk/salvage yard and by one off of a low milage truck. Check and see what years the starter will fit and go from there. I've had a lot of problems with NAPA's lower grade starters and some of them are not easy to change.
