You are correct. The majority of F-150 owners don't even know the problem exists. When this was first getting kicked around and we were all crying and complaining, I remember someone saying, "think how all the people will react when they go in for a plug change, following the instructions in the manual, at 100,000 and get hit with this problem". I'm sure it will get worse for awhile as many of the 04s and 05s start getting to 100,000 miles.

I know blue, it's going to get worse. This is a major problem. Enough to make me look elsewhere when considering a new truck. If Ford would only do something about it. I think they have themselves in a pickle here. Still, they should cover any expense accumulated over an above a "normal" plug change for those models.

So far, they have put a tsb that doesn't always work out. They could do more and have one on one. But it's usually a task to get them to. That's were a GOOD dealership to deal with comes in handy. One that has good relations and no problem corresponding with the manufacturer

Yeah, and also some people wipe their butt and don't check to see if all is gone before pulling up their pants. Ignorance is bliss.

i feel for those who have just gone and changed the plugs like any normal person would do and then come upon this unexpectedly...

good thing I did some reading up first - even though I got my self in a pickle - with money being tight right now, as probably in everyones households, it could have been worse.

I'll have to say thanks to Lisle Corporation part # 65600 I had both broken plugs out in about 10 minutes. What a great setup and a tremendous life saver! I am gonna go by the "rules" this time and try to do the other 6 this Saturday when I don't have to worry about losing daylight... To anyone that's having problems with this, try this tool kit, you won't be sorry. I'll update on how the rest of the plugs come out on Sunday. Wish me luck!
