Thumbs up I got a new engine!!!

Well not really, but the truck fires up and idles soooooo much easier and smother after cleaning the TB and intake (part that the TB bolts to?).

While the previous owner (my neighbor) was very meticulous with maintenance, this area got over looked. The insides were all gunked up and coated with sludge. I followed the instructions that one y'all posted (sorry don't recall the screen name) and got her all cleaned up.

I changed out the PCV and some tubing that had collapsed for lack of a better description.

Next maintenance items:
BG cleaning
Fuel filter,
Synthetic oil, tranny fluid, and rear end oil.

Mods:
To be determined, it does have a ton of miles on it.

Anyways, a big TEXAS thanks for the info posted and the replies to my questions . Hope to return the favor one day.

Craig

Good job man !
When I bought my 97 few years back, before I put it on the road I did the following:
Plugs,
Belt
Flushed cooling system and replaced thermostat
Cooling hoses
Cooling fan clutch
Water pump
Fluid on both differentials, transfer case and transmission
Gas Filter, ( just did it again last Saturday ) Pain in the behind those fittings, you will need the
fuel filter tool at any autozone it is like 3 bux
Air filter
PCV
Truck runs like a champ at now 180K miles
