bigtruck311, built5.4, klitch and there's a white supercrew on here as well that are all 4X4's powered by eaton blown 5.4's
The headers are Pace Setters, so they were actually pretty cheap. I had them on my 4.6L for a couple of years. You may already know this but I couldn't use the long tubes due the the front differential. Anyhow, thank for checkin it out.

They're not low pro's. They're just 285/50 R20's. It's a 31'' tire. Just looks small with all that wheel well space. I use to have 33'' Buckshots. That's why it has a 2'' lift. I will eventually let it back down to factory hight. I don't get in the mud anymore. If you looked at all my pics you can tell that it's had it's share of off roading I like being able to put it in 4by and get traction. Saves the rubber on my rear tires. Anyhow... Thanks for checkin it out.

Overall, a very nice piece of work! Wish I had the time and money to do something like that!

Thanks, a guy from church gave me that suit. I think is from th 70's. And the truck does have a 2'' lift. I use to have 33'' Buckshots on it. As soon as I get the time I'm going to put it back down to factory hight. But my next set of tires will have a little meat on them. Lookin at the Cooper Discover H/T 285/50R20.
Right now it's got Goodyear Eagle GTII 285/50R20 (31'' Tire). They're an excellent long life tire but when it comes to getting in the throttle they just spin.... 1st through 2nd and a little bit in 3rd. Anyhow, Thanks for checkin' it out.

i believe it is possible, but you have to convert to the 99+ PATS system, PITA, and expensive. also, bear in mind that being 4x4, i don't believe the lightning cluster has provisions for 4 HI and 4 LOW. i'm not sure how this would affect install, either.

speaking of all the 4x4 L's...whats the story on the air intake. I've thought about this swap, but was concerned because my truck does see travel off the road from time to time.

Just keep the same style intake you have on your truck now.

Why not leave it slightly lifted and run 305/55/20s?

I'm with Zaair, run some 33s. Or leave on the BL, and run some 35s. 31s are just too small for a truck.
Nice looking truck though. If I had the money I would do this swap in a heart beat.

just wait til my truck ends up as the first pre-97 4x4 5.4 lightning. get a lift and a real set of tires for your truck. i hate it when people put tires on there trucks(especially 4x4's) and they look like dummy tires.

Matt, you won't be the first, saw one on ebay a little while ago. But you could probably still be the first one on this website.

The Pats system instrument clusters ( Lightnings) use a different set of connectors. The speed info first goes to the PCM and then the PCM sends it to the instrument cluster. The Odometer is digital while the 97 cluster uses an analog odometer with tumblers. It is not something that I wouls want to attempt.
