Its real hard though, I would have to see the truck in person to really diagnose it.

I had an 01 f150 with the 5.4 tritan. Had 280,000 miles on it with no problems whatsoever. So I got an 07 with the same engine. It has 137K on it, got hot and shut off. it threw the cam phase sensor code. THey changed the fan clutch. Now it doesn't shut off, but when it gets hot, it intermittently idles rough. Once it starts idling rough, if I rev the engine, it goes away. Had it checked at Ford, there were no codes after the fan clutch was replaced. Any ideas as to what that could be?

My 04 started idleing rough after an oil change. Code said cam sensor. I replaced both for 38$. Very easy to change. Took me less than 30 min. Then I found out how to test them with a multi meter. Both tested good (350 ohms) They only needed cleaned I guess.
