Long Road Trip and Questions???

ok guy bare with me i am driving almost 1,200 miles to my next duty station and was wantint to clean my engine compartment from sand and all that crap and was wanting to know whats the quickest and easiest way to clean all the areas that i cant reach.. is water ok so spray over the engine with a light sprinkle ????? dont wanna do ne thing thats gonna harm the engine and what areas should i stay away from?? thanks guys

Not a good idea to spray any water under the hood!
But if you must,,cover the hole top of the engine,and cover it well.

what should i do then do get it clean in the areas i cant reach and make it a lot cleaner

You can clean your engine. Cover the PCM and connectors. Better make absolutely sure there is no water in the COP wells. You might end up with some surprises otherwise. I've cleaned my '04 5.4 several times and I use my compressor to get every last drop out of the wells before I ever turn it over.

keep your engine running while you spray it down. spray some degreaser or something else on the engine then spray it off and your engine will look like new. But don't forget to keep the engine running! worked for my mud covered engine
