New C.O.P.'s
I'm wanting to replace my COP's when i replace the spark plugs but i don't want to pay 60-100 bucks a piece for them. Has anyone had good luck with the Global_automotive plugs or any other after-market plugs that arent overly pricy?
No problems
per the recommendations on this site I purchased a set of the global automotives and 10,000 miles later I have had no problems. In fact the replacements fixed and issue I was having when accelerating between 45 and 60.
Keep the old COPs just in case.

sounds good to me, im ordering some tomorrow. im planning on changing plugs when i do the COP's, any difference in going back with motorcraft plugs versus a set of NGK's or something else??
I've always used OEM plugs, mostly due to other people's problems posted on this forum. The OEM work best acording to most people here
Plugs & Cop's
Zach,
I installed the Global Cop's 3K miles ago and used a set of Autolite APP103 plugs and my 5.4 2002 XLT is running great. Be sure to follow the technical article on this website when replacing the plugs/Cop's. It could save you alot of trouble later.

DO NOT run the Autiolite 103's. I have a letter from Honeywell themselve's (manufacture Autolites) back home stating that these plugs DON'T meet Ford spec. The heat range is incorrect. We manufacture motorcraft plugs that comply w/Fords specifications.
The 103's can produce Immediate failure in some of the modular's. Others can run them for a time. During this time, vehicle performance and economy can suffer.
It's best not to try to outsmart the manufacturer here, you'll lose as many others have. "Run Motorcraft replacements for optimum results".

Jbrew,
I have noticed that you didn't recomend them before, but so far I must tell you that they are running fine. I did use your recomendation to order the Global Cop's and as I have stated, they are doing fine. Please tell me what you have against the Autolites.
Thanks

That wouldn't really be that big of deal - IF the da^nm Autolites were reliable.
Pics in my galleries.
Autolites
Jbrew,
Well you are definitely correct that they were a cross reference for the motorcrafts at the Oriellys that I purchased them from. I did initially ask for the motorcrafts but they told me they didn't carry them and that the APP103's were just as good. So far so good.

4600 miles ago I used the Autolites. NOW, gas mileage down, I can feel a light skip now and then and feel a slight power lose. At 1st they run alright, now it feels like it did when I 1st bought the truck, sluggish etc.
I wish I was member on this sight last November, I would have purchased OEM's.
Last week I purchased Motorcraft Dbl. Plat's. They are going in this week with my new Global Cop's
Spend the couple extra buck's and you will save yourself some headaches and changing them over again.

Good luck on the change over. I do pull my fuel rail to make the job much easier. I suggest you use new o-rings when reinstalling the fuel rail.
There are a few ppl on here who do the change over with the fuel rail in place. God Bless them, they have more patience than I do. I like the extra room to work with and I can get straight shots to the the plugs.
I went ahead and bought the motorcraft plugs, although ABC had two different kinds... Only difference in them was the size of the electrode. One was kind of stubby looking and the other was smaller around.
