Something weird is going on

I have a 01 screw with 101000 miles. Just put headders on figured i'd change the oil. I decided to go to full synth. After checking out the Mobile 1 web site. I decided to go with 0w30. I just put about 300 miles on it after the chng, thought i'd ck the oil level. i'm down to the add oil level on the stick. This truck has never used oil. I'm going to buy a couple qts today and service it up and keep an eye on it. Should I be worried, has anyone else run into this.

humm noticeing any blue smoke out the tail pipe? Sometime the Full Synth is alot thinner then what you have been running and can slip by the piston rings because you have 101,000 miles and go into the combustion chamber and get burnd. thats all i can think of. Did you warm up the truck and chekc it after you did the oil change?

I did notice a slight oil smell while driving. The press guage looks good i don't see any smoke. It seems to run great. I towed my boat those 300 miles after the change. I just don't want to blow the motor. If this continues I might switch back to what my owners manual calls for.

You switched to synthetic way too late. The modulars are bad for the valve stem seals to leak once 100,000 is reached. The synthetic will leak into the cylinders while the engine is off. You will notice blue smoke upon crankup, switch back to a conventional oil, it will save you lots of money in the long run.
