I have used it in my last 3 vehicles. It has become a bit pricey, but I only change the oil every 5-6k miles so it all works out.

It is good oil, although like I said better oil can be found if you are willing to pay. For me it is a happy medium.

Yes 5-20, I still use the Motorcraft filter. I pay for the oil to be changed by a local shop. It runs me right around $80 out the door and a regular oil change ran me about $40. If you are going to change the synthetic every 3k your wasting your money, but if you will go 5-7k on the synthetic then you will break about even and have better protection for your motor.

When towing or if the truck spend alot of time idling I will usually change it around 4,500 miles, but that is rare.

I wouldn't recommend using full synthetic for the very 1st oil change. You want to allow the moving parts to "wear-in". (or "break-in") The protection of synthetic may be too good for this break-in period. I would use regular dino oil, do a 1st oil change at ~1,500, another one, then switch to full synthetic after ~6K. That's just personal opinion though, make your own decision...

Another oil debate?

Okay, I'll throw my hat in the ring.

I've used Lucas Oil, Royal Purple, Mobil 1, and countless others over the years. The best deal by far, is the local Lincoln Dealership's Quick Lane. $5 Lube, Oil, Filter, Tire Rotation, 21 Point Inspection, Top Off Fluids, & Car Wash. All for just $5. Since it is a dealership, I get the Motorcraft Semi-Synthetic oil and a Motorcraft filter.

Personally, I can't tell the difference when I'm driving. I can't say that I notice a difference at the gas pump either. Although on Spike TV's gearhead PowerBlock TV show, they have segments where Royal Purple is supposedly delivering more horse power & torque than O'Reilly's conventional oil when the same engine is on a dynamometer.

mobile 1 is good but synthetic oil is synthetic oil. you can go about 7500 miles per oil change on synthetic but i've seen it where the filters seperate on the insides when people go this far.. i go every 5000 miles between oil changes on valvoline synthetic oil and napa(wix) oil filters.

OK - my turn...Started using Amsoil after it ran quieter and 14 degrees cooler in my Harley. Their filters are also micron worthy - but for the $ - nothing has been able to touch Motorcraft i you change every 3000-3500 miles.
But I will also say if you like viscosity breakdown and foam...use Valvoline!

I've gone to full synthetic for the last 15 years, and I must say I'm a believer! I was a mobil 1 guy for years but now I get whichever full syn is the best price. My 88 t-bird(turbo coupe) has over 200k, the 94 Mark VIII 220k when we sold it, the 98 Mark VIII has 140K and still running great. I just turned 100k on the 02 SCrew - I bought it new and went full syn after the 2nd oil change(and I just made the last payment )

ALL that for $5?!? I'll change my oil once a week at those prices!

I go would go 7,500 miles on Mobil 1.

Even on Motorcraft Synthetic-Blend 5W-20 I've gone 5,000 miles and the oil still looked like golden honey.
