97 f150 4.6L please help!!!
ok so the truck had 16lbs of pressure at the fuel rail. replaced the pump. ran great for 3 days. started the process all over again. took bed off pump out hole was in the connecting line that connects pump to sending unit., put it all back together last night and its doing the same exact thing today. sounds like bubbles in the tank when the pump turns on. any ideas as to why this is happening?
Test the pressure once more - DON'T forget the regulator. Think you have a bad line that goes into the tank from the filter, they do spilt.
i had an explorer do the same thing, it had a 4.0v6 slamming the gass bogged it to death. easing into it was smooth sailing. replaced the MAF with a new one...problem went bye bye. cleaning the MAF only gets ya so far. and those other codes could conceivably be caused by a bad MAF. dirty air comming, or misread clean air can cause all kinds of problems.
You said you ran it out of gas. I did that to an old 82 Datusn and forever after that I had fuel filter problems. I think there was junk in the gas tank that broke loose after I ran it out of gas. The cure is to have the gas tank cleaned and sealed.
I hope this is not your problem.
I do not know how to verify the problem, just offering something to consider.
