installed new battery, now it idles erratic

installed new battery, now it idles erratic

my battery died seemingly all the sudden so i put a new one in but now it idles rough especially with the ac on, the engine light even came on and wont go off, i know the computer has to reset it's peramiters because it happened on my old 98' f150 but it didnt take this long (been almost 2 weeks) will it clear itself up or will i need to take it to the dealer? thanks

should have already cleared itself up, when i reset mine it takes 2 or 3 trips, and about an hour or so of driving to relearn the vehicle

id say to disconnect and reconnect the battery one more time, if no go take it to the dealer

Dealer No Do not reset go to Autozone and have the code checked. The reset and see if it returns.

I bet you knocked a vacuum line loose during the battery installation. there are seveal in that area. I'd look them over good.

That slipped my mind. It could be that but I would still check the code for a mental note. Besides if you find a vac leak you still need to erase the code and they can do that after it is scaned
