Thumbs up Is a Shaker intake any good?

I have been thinking about installing an actual shaker hood scoop. What are the pros and cons? I currently have a Airaid cold air intake installed and it does a good job.

do it. if done right it will be sweet. i dont doubt your abilities.

if i could id bring the air in from the top and seal the scoop instead of bringing it in from the fender and having my intake exposed to the engine bay.

my personal opinion.. for what is worth (but then you DID ask..) The shaker on a truck looks like ***. No proportion, and the truck isn't fast.. so why bother? It just plain looks bad.

Truck could be made fast =) id love to see it on an F150! Even on the Mach 1 mustangs it isnt 100% functional, they still have a normal air intake on them.

The ones I've seen are functional, requiring to cut out the hood.

Any shaker set up should be functional, however I havent seen anything that use just the shaker, they use a normal intake set up along with the shaker
