Check Engine Light

My check engine light recently came on, so when I got home, I shut off my truck, checked the gas cap, and then started back up again. As I turned the ignition, I noticed a gurgling coming from my gas tank area and I was wondering:
Would a check engine light by initiated by a faulty fuel pump in the tank?

I disconnected the battery, and it's cleared for now. I guess I'll just have to take it into AAMCO tomorrow to have them check it out.

Most likley an EVAP fault if the problems back by the tank. Don't take it in until the lights back on again. That might take 3 or 4 drive cycles, but if the problem still exists, it will be back.

Auto Zone (if you have them there) will scan for free, but the light needs to be illuminated for them to retrieve a code.

Copy this code down and post it here , we can tell you what it means.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, we've got AutoZone, but I wasn't sure if AAMCO would be more reliable.
