Question New plugs?

Hey guys I just picked up some new plugs for my 97 f150 4x4 4.6 and when I went to put them in I noticed that the new ones had more threads on them then the old ones, the old ones are awsf32pp and the new ones are sp-432 I called the parts store to make sure they gave me the right ones and the said that they were and I even checked the motorcraft website and it also listed them for my truck. With twice as much thread what keeps them from going to far into the cylinder head and hitting the piston?I just bought this truck a month ago and it dosen't look like anything has ever been changed but the oil,the motorcraft website list about 5 different plugs for my truck but not the awsf32pp is this a factory plug only?

What's the length difference ? You have the right plugs. Should be M14x1.25.

The old one have threads about half way up the new ones thread all the way to the base(if that makes sense)I will measure the difference if you need me to.

AWSF designation migrated to AGSF in 03 . AGSF's are longer as well - SP-432 shares the same 1.25 measurement the AGSF's did or do if you can find them, I'm pretty sure there history as well..

Run em , your alright . Those are the correct plugs for your 4six..
