1997 engine id

How can i tell if the engine in my 1997 f-150 is the original that came in the truck. I think there is an engine id that matches the vin but i dont know where to find it.

umm on the driver side head/Block there should be a sticker saying what day your engine was made. Mine was 5/7/97.

1997 engine

Thanks man I just had my truck worked on, engine and tranny changed but when i picked up the truck the old engine was not there. I want to make sure the guy actually changed the engine

Yeah your intitled to all parts unless there too heavy. You would have had to asked for to see the old engine.
