I have an 04 F150 5.4 3 Valve with a bad cam.
It is a 3l3e casting that Ford list only for an 04
I was given a set of cams from an 05. They are 5l5e castings
The #s are etched onto the cam, they aren't really a casting.
I have measured them 12 ways from Sunday including profile on a camdoctor and can find no reason the 05 won't work.
If I do use them do I need to buy the 05 lifter to match.
What kind of trouble might the switch cause.
Ford gets a lot of money for the cams and I don't want to pay now and later.
