More questions about a 300

I have a 95 w/ the 300 and a manual tranny 4x2. Moving on from there, a guy at work said he has a some extra 3in exhaust pipe and said he'd fad something up for me, he doesn't have alot of pipe so I came up with a plan but wanted to run it by and see if it was gonna work out alright.

The two cats sit right under the passenger side of the cab and run next to the frame, there is a line or pipe ruing from the pipe inbetween the two and i assume that it is an 02 sensor of some kind.

Heres the plan, to cut off the second cat and attach this 3in exhaust from ther and run it under the frame and have it end at the end of the cab on the passenger side, not go under the bed at all, so all in all it will prolly be about 2 or 2.5 feet of pipe.

so tell me what you think

also one more nieve question, will a 95 lighning motor bolt up w/ my tranny if i machined a spacer would it be able to handle to power and torque? One day i hope put in a lighning motor but i gotta have a stick to shift.

That 5 speed manual is barely able to handle a stock 4.6 - a Lightning motor will disintegrate it. About the only manual that would hold up is something out of a Mustang or a Super Duty.

Why would you need a spacer for that trans? The bolt pattern is the same between a 300 and 351W. It should take the torque okay, but don't treat it like you have a T56 or even a ZF trans sitting behind that engine.

I just wonder if that small length of exhaust is enough to keep good flow and keep things running smoothly. I think it would sound awful from all these dumped exhausts I hear as of late. Keep both the oxidation and reduction cats on and leave things as is.
