Pulley squeak?
Pulley squeak?
I took my truck to a touchless car wash Friday night and when I pulled out I had a squeak under the hood. I assumed it was a wet pulley and it would clear itself up after it dried. Well it's been a couple of days and it still squeaks. As you look in the compartment it sounds to be coming from the right side. (Maybe the vicinity of the A.C pump??) What could a car wash do to produce a squeak? Could it just wash some sort of grease of lube off a pulley shaft somewhere?
The noise seem to be reduced when the A/C is on.
If you have any thoughts please let me know?
Thanks.

I was just gonna start a new topic when I saw yours. I'm having the same problem with my truck. Thought it was the belt, changed it, still squeaks. Bought it to my mechanic he says its not the pulley & seems to think it is on the inside of engine. The sound is coming from the right side of my engine as well. He wants me to leave it with him for a couple of days to look into it. Has anyone had this problem....
Also the squeaking/chirping goes awy when I drive but is loud & annoying when I let it idle.
Also found out my a/c condenser has crapped out on me....when it rains it pours.

No, I cannot say I am positive it's not the belt. Is there a way to tell for certain without taking it off? If it was the belt would the sound be localized to the right side?
what size engine is in the truck? does your a/c still work, or is yours going out like kasparsport? could be the compressor. i don't want to say for sure until I ask a friend. give me till tomorrow I'll have an answer for you.
It's a 5.4l FX4.
