I think I blew a head gasket
I think I blew a head gasket
I took the truck to the track tonight and was very easy on the truck since i just got a transmission in it and left at an 1k rpm and ran a 8.6 in the 1/8. I went to make my second pass did an exta long burnout when i pulled up the track guy said no go and when i backed off the line i saw drips of water on the track. I went back to the pits and the top of the motor was dry i crawled under the truck and their was water all over the passenger side of the motor. I thought maybe the heater hose was leaking on the passanger side but it was dry. So i went and watched some friends run and when i came back and loaded the truck water was running out of the exhaust. I never noticed it leaking before but it would explain why it gets hot when i get in boost hard.
So the question is do you think its a head gasket or something else?

yep head gasket. Does you exhaust smell like antifreeze? If its coming out the pipe thets the only way it can get in. If it aint it could be your heater core (or hose to it) thats on the passenger side to.
Pull the plugs on that side and crank the engine over. If fluid comes out any of the spark plug holes, pull the head. Do NOT crank it over at all unless the plugs are removed, otherwise you could hydrolock the engine, and that costs a lot more than a head gasket.
Is it possible for the intake or the intake gasket to crack and water be getting into the exhaust that way? I am going to pull the intake off today and see if just maybe it is a intake gasket ir the intake. I hope its not the head gasket but that would be a good reasion to order the rest of my parts to go built. I have been piecing together a motor slowly and have a block and a forged crank and was thinking about the Manley rods and pistions. What do you think?
